DIY: Aloe Vera Gel

With the country toasting up this weekend, we thought it would be a good idea to talk about sun screen just jump over to that cooling sensation you need against your body after a good “date” with the sun-aloe vera gel.  Traditionally, the aloe vera plant was used topically to heal wounds.  Today, not only has the FDA approved aloe as a natural food flavoring but it is also used for “wounds” inside the body; those being diseases such as diabetes or asthma.  Although everyone agrees it feels nice against sunburn, nobody wants to pay an arm and a leg for it.  This is where we turned over to our trusted healthy-living, go-to company, LIVESTRONG.  Going through LIVESTRONG’s article database, we traveled back to the year 2010 where Frank Whittemore wrote an article titled, “How to Make Your Own Aloe Vera Gel”.  Bingo.  Click here to journey over to this article and maybe save a buck or two this summer through creating your own aloe vera gel.  This is something Amber Blue has actually (surprising, we know) never done, so we would love to hear back from you and tell us if it worked, if it didn’t work, or any other tips or comments you have!

Have a great weekend and enjoy the warmth,

Amber Blue Skincare
